THE TWO SELVES

"The soul is compromised of two selves."

"There is the first self; the self that exists within
the selfs own mind."

"And there is the second self; the self that exists.
within the minds of others."

This is the way the second book will be thought of. I've gotten a better idea of the climax of book 2, or at least the very last moment before it happens. Btw the above is an important concept for the story.

After tracking Blue Hero throughout a portion of the second book, and learning a bit about his past, Locke is smashed down to bits during an interrogation scene. A scene of Blue Hero completely breaking down every flaw that relates back to the TWO SELVES... here's an idea:

Chapter 36:
The Two Selves-

"The soul is compromised of two selves." Blue Hero began, tracing his feet along the edge of the platform. Locke stood opposite and studied his movements.
"Both of these selves are the same self," he paused, returning Locke's stare.
"But only one is the true self." He stopped in place and turned to Locke.
"Enough of this! I'm here for the book!" Locke yelled.
"You think this is a game? You take this captured Freedom Fighters, picking them apart bit by bit as if was some sport!" he accused in disgust. Blue Hero remained motionless.
"How you do it; I don't know and I don't care to, but these people have come back mute or dead because of what you've done to them! This ends here!" Locke lunged forward, hood flying back, plunging his Dueling Heart into the heartless monster. In an instant, Blue whipped his Soul Tag straight up, knocking Locke off balance. Blue flashed farther away, using his powers to send Locke crashing into the throne that stood at the other end of the platform. Walking and speaking inches away from his face, Blue muttered angrily:
"You're going to listen. And you're going to listen GOOD."
Locke's face was filled with spiteful reverance, his hands quivering with anger.

(Blue Hero begins to summarize the first two books as he sees it, commenting on it and such. And then the subject turns to Locke).
~

"But then you came here alone." he spat, back turned to Locke.
"Why did you come alone Locke? Why do you think that is?" he didn't turn. Locke muttered back:
"Because I didn't want to put anyone else in danger! I was going to handle this on my own."
Blue Hero paused, his face contemplating, almost as if in pain. Then he turned back around, objecting:
"No Locke. You know damn well why you came here looking for me without any help." Locke struggled to break whatever bonds were holding him down.
"It's actually very simple," Blue Hero began.
"You're afraid of help." Locke just stared.
"Why Locke. Why are you so afraid of someone lending a helping hand? Offering aid?"

(the interrogation continues, as Blue begins to prove his point by sending a flood rush of memories into Locke. As depicting moments of weakness. And then it gets very intense, as Locke begins to remember people he cared about who died...the ones who would offer him help).

THE MEMORY IS CLEARER IN MY MIND THAN BEFORE. OH, NO, NOT THIS, BLUE I BEG YOU STOP! STOP NOW! WE'RE ON THE BATTLEFIELD, JOKANA AND I, OUR PARTING WORDS JUST BEFORE THEY DIED. NO, ANKH, BLUE PLEASE STOP! OUR LAST WORDS, WORDS OF HELP AND HOPE. THEY SAYS THESE THINGS, I STILL CAN'T OPEN UP, I CAN'T ACCEPT HELP, I CAN'T ACCEPT HOPE. BUT THEN I BEGIN TO OPEN UP, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, OH GOD NO, WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE?
WHY IN THE FUCKING WORLD DID HE HAVE TO DIE?!
NO, ALL MEMORIES OF US TWO ARE COMING, FLASHING BY IN AN INSTANT, PAIN, THE LONELINESS, OH GOD NO! STOP IT NOW!!!!

(As you can see, he begins to slowly lose his mind throughout the course of this chapter. He begins to spiral into a black vacuum of self sabotage and loneliness, all of this because Blue Hero is torturing him. But he has a reason, it all makes sense in the end)

NO, WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE?!

Because you killed him.

NO.

Yes Locke. You are his best friend, and then you killed him.

NO
You were his best friend him,
NO
and then you killed him.
NO STOP IT! STOP IT NOW!
And then, you killed him.
NO I COULDN'T HAVE!
And then, you killed him.
THAT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN ME!
And then, you killed him.
NO I WOULDN'T DO THAT! BUT WHY DO I REMEMBER SOMETHING?!
Because you killed him.
I DIDN'T KILL HIM.
You killed him.
You killed him.
you killed him.
And then, you killed yourself.
NO, WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS?! I FEEL MYSELF, YET I AM NOT MYSELF!
You killed your "self" Locke.
I AM NOT MYSELF, NO I AM NOT, THIS IS NOT THE SELF THAT I AM.
Then who's self could it be?
I DON'T KNOW. BUT THIS IS NOT ME, THAT MEMORY IS NOT OF MYSELF.
Yes.
THEN WHO'S SELF? WHAT SELF?!?!?!

The Other Self.

(As you can see, things get very intense even more so then before. The first part of the interrogation is over)

"You are afraid of help." Blue Hero began to conclude.
"You are afraid of help, because you afraid of others. You are afraid of people." Locke lay own the ground, bawling his eyes out, barely listening.
"You are afraid of people, because you are afraid of pain. You are afraid of being nothing, you wish to prove yourself and better yourself through your loneliness." He paused, sending a look saying 'it was necessary' to Locke. Then he continued.
"You wish to better yourself, prove yourself, so you won't have to suffer. You are afraid of people because they are the reason you suffer, the reason you distance and close yourself off from everyone else. You know this." he paused.
"This is the way you see yourself." and then a sigh, sitting down on the throne. He finished his argument with:
"That is the first self. The self that exists within the self's own mind."'
